For the past several summers, I have worked extremely hard. I've had little vacation and been working in fast paced environments -- not exactly the best way to vacation. So this summer I decided to do things a little differently. No job. But that doesn't mean that I wasn't busy. Over the course of my summer activities, I saw 8 countries and 12 US States. I worked hard for the first part of the summer, then played hard during what was left over.
Here's my summer in a nutshell:
| Sunrayce97 (Solar Car Race) | 2 weeks |
| 1200 mile solar car race from Indianapolis to Colorado Springs. Stanford's car came in 3rd out of 35 teams. <Pictures> | |
| Marin County Fair Multimedia Funhouse | 1 week |
| This year's theme: Close Encounters of the Marin Kind. My third year working at the fair was as fun as ever. <Link> | |
| European Tour | 6 weeks |
| 7 Countries, 14 cities. Travel by rail. Sleep at Youth Hostels. Wow! <Matt's Tour> | |
| Rest | 2 weeks |
| Two of the most boring weeks of my life. I did nothing.
| |
| Texas | 1 week |
| Visit friends from high school and Rob, my roommate this year. Drove back from Texas with Rob. 3 days, 1900 miles. All desert!

| Back to School... | Now until eternity |
